I’m ZLUF, a hard-working dam beaver who’s finally retired and decided to spend his golden years travelling around Southeast Asia. \ud83e\uddf3\ud83c\udf0f<\/p>\n And where does this adventure begin? Kuta, Bali, Indonesia!<\/strong> \ud83c\udfc4\u200d\u2642\ufe0f\u2600\ufe0f<\/p>\n \ud83c\udfd6\ufe0f FIRST STOP: KUTA BEACH<\/strong><\/p>\n Kuta is one of Bali’s best-known beach destinations, famous for its long sandy beach, surf schools, spectacular sunsets and lively atmosphere. It’s also a great place for beginners to try surfing, thanks to its sandy-bottom beach breaks and plenty of instructors ready to help you catch your first wave.<\/p>\n The town is close to Bali’s international airport, making it an easy starting point for exploring the island. Conditions vary, and rip currents can occur, so follow your instructor and swim only in designated safe areas.<\/p>\n Sunsets and beach life<\/p>\n The beach faces west, making sunset a highlight. Kuta also has caf\u00e9s, shopping, food stalls and a lively nightlife scene.<\/p>\n Food and getting around<\/p>\n Try local warungs for Indonesian favourites such as nasi goreng and mie goreng. Central Kuta is walkable, while Grab, Gojek and taxis can help with longer trips.
